Morning everyone!

Hope you all had great weekends with loads of sunshine!

Topics for today's show are:-

Big changes for Wales today. The no smoking in public places law comes into force and prescription charges are dropped on the day they increase in other parts of the country.

The 25th anniversary of the invasion of the Falkland Islands. Do you remember it?

Health hour today discusses holding down a top job at the same time as being alcohol dependent.

The death of the 2 children whilst on holiday in Corfu - on Panorama tonight.

Ah well we beat the show's page with the topics today despite our server problems! ;)

I can see there being complications with the free prescriptions especially for people living on the borders of the 2 countries.

As was said on the show you can imagine people going into Wales to get their medicine. I don't know how they will stop it as you don't have to go to a particularly pharmacy to file your prescription.

The 25th anniversary of the invasion of the Falkland Islands. Do you remember it?

I most certainly do; I was 26 years old at the time and I remember thinking, as I do now, that it was a propaganda exercise by Margaret Thatcher. Unfortunately, it involved the needless death of hundreds of troops, British and Argentine - an unacceptably high price to pay for her re-election the following year.

I appreciate The Falkland Islanders see themselves as British, but how would we feel if The Isles of Scilly were occupied by Argentina?

There's no comparison Peter. There's a point to living on the Isle of Scilly.

I don't agree at all with your post at all. We have had a long discussion on the news and current affairs board if you want to post on there about this subject.

If not OK, no fuss.

To tell you the truth, E.t.R., I'm not at all surprised you don't, at all!

I realise my opinion wouldn't be universally popular (and that would be particularly the case on the W.N.&C.A. Board, no doubt), but it's all part of life's rich tapestry, n'est ce pas?

Well I was 26 at the time as well ( albeit EXACTLY six months older than Peter) and I have the same take on this as he did, or still has. That woman was elected to power on my 24th birthday. Enough already. We'll be having a Red Wedge gig next.................

Although I did not agree with the Falklands war at least Maggie didnt lie to parliament about the reasons for going there!

at least Maggie didnt lie to parliament about the reasons for going there!

You'll be referring to our current 'Glorious Leader' there, no doubt, and you'll get no quarrel from me on that score!

To quote Pete Townsend: "Meet the new boss; same as the old boss."

And Johnny Rotten: "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?".

No unlike these labour (socialist) fools we have now, who seem to have made lying to the country a speciality.

Sorry Dave, but with the greatest respect 'New Labour' could in no way be described as 'socialist', and anyone who thought they were would be a fool!

You're right, Pete, they're not. This is what confuses the Tories though. They don't know whether to lurch further to the right or start hugging trees. My sympathies are with them of course.

No one more socialist than the next esteemed leader (if GB has his way)-the pensions debacle is proving that as we speak!

Yeah they've proved their not socialist by pouring money into the public sector to provide their socialist agenda.

I'll give you their socialist agenda isn't worth the paper it's written on, just like everything else they've done
