Morning all,

As we start the wind down to the weekend, topics on today's show are:-

Pregnant Women - A new Government report advises that all pregnant women should abstain from drinking alcohol.

McJobs - McDonalds say the word 'McJob' should be taken out of the dictionary as it insults low paid workers.

House Price Crash - Jeremy discusses the possibility of one. What do you think?
See poll at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/vine/

Birth of Punk - It's 30 years since the release of God Save the Queen by the Sex Pistols. Jeremy looks back at the birth of punk. Will he play the song? He had loads of complaints when he played it before.

On a sad note we say goodbye to Yorkshire Lass who has co-hosted the board with me recently. Work commitments mean she's having to give up. Thanks for all your help and all the best for the future!

Have great weekends and see you Monday if you've nothing better to do!

1. Surely that advice has been around for years. Is this the result of another multi-million pound commission - three years, or whatever, to come up with the same advice?
2. So, McDonalds admit they pay crap wages, do they?
3. Something must happen with house prices. I can't see how any first time buyer can possibly get on the property ladder, now.
4. I'm afraid that I could never see any musical value, whatsoever, in Punk, but a lot of people loved it.
5. Does that mean YL will not be posting at all, or just not hosting.

McMucks want Mcjobs out of usage because of their image...no other reason.

The word comes into being because because it describes perfectly that situation.

Words are to be used, not banned.

re: 4. I have just heard it...FANTASTIC ...!!

I was 13 in 1977, Punk was a great catharsis..

I realise I am probably in minority here

Good for JV for playing it.... :thumbleft:

Not a fave of mine, but it would be a dull place if we all liked the same thing!

Jezza's played 2 from '77 so far, I wonder how many more we'll hear?

Hi All

sorry to see people disappear of the board. There seems to less of the old names on here these days. As I had been unable to post for a few months can anyone tell me whether or not we have lost anyone e.g. PP, WG ?

Hi man@work,

Yes it's a shame to lose posters. PP still comes on NWACA board occasionally but WG posts elsewhere.

They both appear occasionally, M@W.

Both shy types, being Welsh you know, feel slightly in awe of we English posters, ya know.

 at Don they aren't Welsh as well you know, they are in exile in Wales aren't they?

Oh Hello Joe fancy seeing you here :D nice to see you are you well?

M@W good to see you around again. Most of the original R2 Crowd are still here in some form or another. I think also most of us really old timers don't post as much as we did as the first flush of obsessive posting has worn off a bit and real life has kicked in.

Anyway I think we are all very grateful to YL for the help she has given on the board and hope her work commitments decrease soon. Would anyone else be willing to help Helen out? It would be very much appreciated.
