I've had loads of these leaflets with no charity number on them. I was suspicious so never gave anything to them. I do fill the bags of known charities as it's much easier that carting them to the charity shops.

What annoys me is when I go to the trouble of putting the bag out, they are very often not collected.

One charity (I forget which one) leaves a 'thank you' card through the door so at least I know it's been collected by the right people.

I have been very wary of giving unwanted items to charity shops.
I used to work near a well known charity shop aimed at helping the elderly
and was horrified to see all sorts of donations being dumped in a huge wheelie bin at the back of the shop! The shop was too small to accommodate the volume of donations and resorted to dumping the overspill which is both ungrateful and disgraceful.

Hi Ian,

I think some people use the charity bags instead to throwing away things that are really rubbish and should have been thrown in the bin. Of course with only fortnightly collections it may increase.

Welcome to the board by the way!
