You have a point re the techology of it, but maybe you should be about the dangers, if you have teenage kids that is.

I don't have any, so feel I look at the internet in a different light. Ignorance can sometimes be bliss eh!

I think the problem here is that most kids DON'T understand it better than their parents. All they see is a happy gum drop world of music downloads, help with homework, and making friends. They're not old enough to be cynical about people's intentions, which is where parents come in.

I remember my first time on the net and our dear little chat community.
Planetis3d. And yes we did have kids in there that were subjected to abuse from adults trying to pick them up. But the baggage of comments from then on to a name we had sussed used to drive the filth away.
The site was only monitored about six hours aday.
But some of our community had methods of dealing with the pedos. They assumed a name and profile of a young girl and would get approached at some time by a pedo. They would if convieniant arrange a meeting if nearby with a pedo.
He the guy would with friends go meet the pedo in town. They usually limped home wiser about chatting up on line little girls.
The only thing is that with the crap thought out legaslation being advocated this method of dealing with pedos will result in brave guys doing a good job been targeted mistakenly as pedos themselves.
