The hunt for 2 convicted murderers continues, but should they have been there in the first place?

No, they should not.
I am also of the opinion that a convicted murderer should not be given a minimum tariff, life should mean life, in a place that has the bare essentials to live.

Prisoners should be placed into open conditions when approaching the end of their sentences. The transition back into the community is essential and cannot be achieved when thrown directly from the secure estate into the highstreet.

I believe life should mean life as well. If not a darn site longer than 10 years reduced to 5 as I think was the case with one of those presently on the run.

I'm going to start doing my Eric impression and take on the ills of the world.
For someone to be in open prison 5 years into a 10 year sentence, makes my eyes bleed.
Utterly utterly disgraceful.

There have been well publicised cases of parents knowingly terminating the lives of their own small children when they horribly disabled.
Technically these people have been classified as murderers.
I am not saying that we are talking about such cases in this thread, but we sometimes forget that generalisations can be off the mark in some instances..
