Morning all,
Hope you are all managing to stay afloat despite the rain.
Topics for today's show, with Julian Worricker sitting in for Jeremy, are:-
Terror - With some of those being questioned about the latest terrorist attacks, is it time to rethink the profile of Islamist terrorists in the UK?
Speeding - A father has been sent to jail for taking the blame for his son's speeding offence.
Speaking Welsh - The right to speak Welsh in the workplace. would it be your chosen language?
See poll at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/vine/
Blushing - The operation to stop excess blushing.
Over to you now.

I must listen to the last item - I blush every time I see Sizz's avatar.

Now that's what I call a clever expert, so to summarise then, we are targets because we invaded Iraq and deposed Saddam, and we are targets because we didn't depose Saddam.... me thinks he should go away and have a think about this !

Well I don't know who he was, but he should never be invited back, his arguments were rubbish and contradictory, and he constantly tried to talk over the top of the other guest, whilst demanding to be allowed to finish his point....... arrogant git!

Well I just hope those who moan about Jeremy cutting people off were listening, as Julian just did it.

He was starting to make my "Nuke em!" argument sound like a viable plan
""Speaking Welsh - The right to speak Welsh in the workplace. would it be your chosen language? ""
Doesn't the language choose you?
You have to be born to it?

No you can take lessons... there are even tales of people who can speak more than one language... but I'm not convinced myself ;)

I wonder what was the purpose of the "Is Welsh your first language' poll?
People who have Welsh as their first language would be more likely to be listening to BBC's Radio Cymru not a London-centric programme broadcast in English.
The first sentence of the introduction to the feature was important: this legislation may happen. A lot of things may happen, aliens could beam up Julian and give him a right good Alpha Centauri anal probe (as is their custom) and that is more likely than an extension to the requirement to provide Welsh.
I missed most of the story but this has all come about because Plaid Cymru are now in coalition with NL and this legislation happens to be on their wish list. The media then float it as a possibility. It won't happen.

Hi PP,
Heard most of it and wondered why the person who was pro the Welsh language was an American and kept quoting something from 1962 and the civil rights movement in relation to the poll? BTW I don't think they meant the one on the JV page (did you mean that one?).
Sounded like it would be a bit chaotic if it did come in.
