Morning everyone,

Hope your weekends weren't too soggy. :(

On today's show the topics will be :-

Rubbish Collection - MP's are now saying that there is no proof that fortnightly collections are helping to increase recycling. Has it helped you to recycle?
See poll at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/vine/

Battery Hens - Researchers say that hens kept in battery cages are no more stressed than their free-range counterparts. Do you buy free range eggs?

Health and Wellbeing - Marriage and Affairs - 'My partner had an affair and I'm struggling to forgive'.

Boris Johnson - Is he going to run for mayor of London? We'll find out this lunchtime.

Over to you now!

PS Note topic change!

Shouldn't the third topic have been on one of those Trisha style daytime TV shows?

Sounds a bit like it from the description on the webpage. I can't remember what Jeremy said on Friday, maybe he'll say more when he talks to Ken.

It's a serious subject though, it happened to a close friend of mine. Both sides have been affected in this case.

I'm sorry but just how many times has the fortnightly rubbish collections thing been discussed  It seems to regularly appear on the carousel of 'news'

It's one of the main items on the news and in the papers Toggy, so it's bound to come up. Today MP's are saying maybe it's not the way to go? Many will agree.

I just find the subject tedious, it's been done to death already.

We have fortnightly collections and have done for a couple of years now. The household bin goes out one week and the green bin - recycle stuff, and the brown bin - garden waste and compost stuff, go out the following week. It has not been a major problem really, but we do have proper bins, in the summer the black bin does get a bit maggoty in the warm weather, but I dont think it makes me recyle more, maybe even a little less if I am honest. The green bin is full within a week, so I do tend to fill the black bin up with stuff that should be recycled just to clear it out of the utility room.

I don't think I recycle more either. We have started to keep the black bin in the garage where it's cooler in the summer as we did find maggots last year. We still use the 'old' bin with a black bag so it's not because we don't dispose of it carefully. It's very rarely full even after 2 weeks.

The guy across from me is having a battle with the local council via the local paper, and is refusing to recycle anything until we get weekly collections for general rubbish as he's had maggots. I don't think he'll get very far.

Rubbish Collection – I don’t believe that most councils recycle. What ever bin you have it all ends up in land fill. This is just a cost saving measure.

Health and Wellbeing - Marriage and Affairs – Either forgive unconditionally or move on. Relationships are no fun without trust and life’s too short to live without fun.

Boris Johnson – Londoners love Livingstone and he knows it. He kisses the backside of every minority in the city (except Jews of course) and that keeps in him power. Boris has more chance of being Liverpool mayor.

Lord

I think it's good that JV is covering a range of issues, this could be a lifeline to some.

Also remember that not everyone has a TV and access to Jeremy Kyle.

I've never watched Jeremy Kyle, but as I said before I've a very good friend who has had to 'deal' with this over a 10 year period. I'm one of the very few who knows the details and she calls me her 'rock', but it's not daytime TV sensationalism I can tell you.

Regarding item 4, Bo Bo Johnson's got no chance.
