With HD 5700 series, ATI stroke the market hard, being the only DirectX 11 solution for enthusiasts, with over 2 million DirectX 11 video cards sales. Now, launching the 5670 series, ATI targets the sub $100 segment for video cards, this series being also able to deliver DirectX 11 but on a single slot fitting.
5670 is based on Redwood HX GPU, featuring an extremely low power consumption for a pretty good video card, as low as 61 watts at full load and 14 watts idle. RAM size will vary from 512MB GDDR5 to 1GB GDDR5, with prices between $99 and $119.
In near future, ATI announced to launch two brand new series, the HD 5500 and HD 5400, first ones being able to deliver a low power consumption, less 50 watts, while second ones will deliver a passive cooling solution.
